Small Target Haul – Less Than $20

My fiancé’s great uncle recently went through an extensive operation, so he’ll be living nearby for awhile. He loves the Boost rich chocolate drinks, but these things are so expensive! I found a great scenario, so I had to stock up for him! I also grabbed a couple of the Simply Pure vanilla coffee creamers, because I’ve tried the caramel and hazelnut varieties, and I’ve been waiting to try the vanilla! I remembered seeing a great deal listed last week on the Suave kid’s body wash, and to my surprise they weren’t signed at my store as being on sale!  The Berry Blue scent smells good, and who says an adult can’t use kid’s body wash?! Keep on reading for a complete breakdown of how I got all of this for less than $20!

HUGE Laundry Detergent for CHEAP

I haven’t had to purchase bulk laundry detergent in over a year. The last time I bought detergent was in May of 2015! Don’t get me wrong… I remember getting a single bottle of Persil because it was super cheap at CVS, but I’m down to about two bottles of my stash. I’ve given some to family and also donated some to our local animal shelter, but my personal stockpile is dwindling down.

In May 2015, I scored all of this for $2.81!

Feeling in a bind, I tried to locate the best deal for detergent this week. Target had the best deal (in my opinion) on these huge 150 oz. bottles of Purex. Here’s the breakdown:

Buy (3) 150 oz. Purex @ $6.99 each = $20.97
Use 10% CW = -$2.10
Use a $3 off 2 IP = -$3.00
Pay: $15.87 (I rolled a $5 GC)
Get back $5 GC for buying 3
Submit for $4 WYS $15 SavingStar rebate
Net: $6.87 total (or $2.29 each)

TIP: Some of the larger bottles have a peelie for Buy 2, Get 1 FREE! If you can find one, your savings will be even sweeter!

HELLO again! Back to the DEALS!

I have been MIA for a few months, but all for good reasons! Just a quick life update… I got engaged in early June to my boyfriend of almost five years! We went on vacation, sold our last house, packed up our belongings (including my stockpile) and we moved. We are currently living in a one-bedroom “apartment” while we build a new home together!

In between all of this chaos, I’ve managed to maintain a 3.90 GPA in my online master’s program. I’ve also started an internship with my company’s Communications team, and I’m still fulfilling my current job roles. It’s been a crazy last few months, and with the limited space, I haven’t been able to coupon much.

I’ve got most of my stockpile crammed into a huge Rubbermaid tote, but some is currently in storage. It’s so nice being able to save money and to live off of the stockpile while our new home is being built. I mean, that’s why I started couponing anyway!

I kept reading about the deal I’m about to share with you, and I couldn’t pass it up! There was still room in the stockpile tote, so I absolutely feel like I made up for all of the lost time! In one week, I managed to score 20 bottles of shampoo and conditioner for FREE! Here’s how I did it:

14572162_10208152302458004_7897793590918255651_n.jpgBuy 4 Tresemme at $4.99 (or $3.99) = $19.96
Earn a $5 GC for buying 4 Tresemme items
Use $5 GC coupon WYS $15 in personal care
Use 2 $5/2 Tresemme coupons = -$10.00
Pay: $9.96
Get back 2 $5 GCs
Net: FREE + 4¢ MM
***I also submitted for $3 WYB 2 Tresemme SavingStar offer

Buy 4 Gillette shave gels @ $1.97 = $7.88
Buy 2 Purrell Naturals @ $3.99 = $7.98
Use $5/$15 in-ad Target GC coupon
Use 4 $2/1 Gillette coupon = -$7.88
Use 2 75¢/1 Purrell IP = -$1.50
Pay: $6.48
Get back $5 GC
Net: $1.48 or 74¢ for each Purrell

I did the Tresemme deal five times and the Purrell/Gillette deal twice. I couldn’t use the $5/$15 in-ad GC coupon more than once per transaction, and the store limited it to two per day. Needless to say, I went to Target multiple times this week!

14470563_10208144389820193_3603146392335984885_n.jpg

When all was said and done, I got 20 bottles of shampoo and conditioner for free. I got 10 cans of Gillette shave gel for free. And I scored four bottles of Purrell hand sanitizer for 74¢ each! (Note: Not all items are pictured. I put all of my items away one night before taking a photo.)

Cash Back Apps!

To make some coupon deals even sweeter, there are several apps that you can download that will give you cash back for certain items that you purchase. Most require you to upload a photo of your receipt, or link your store card (like Rite Aid’s Plenti Card), to take advantage of the rebate offers. With most of these apps you can cash out to your PayPal account, or opt to receive a Gift Card to select stores (like Starbucks, Amazon, or Best Buy). These are a few of my favorites:

mobiSave-1024x512
How does it work?
Prior to purchasing your items, choose items from the app’s offers and add them to your account. When you’re ready to get cash back for your purchase, hit the “Redeem” button, and upload a photo of your receipt.
When do I get paid? The best part about this app is that you won’t have to wait to cash out – it’ll be deposited into your PayPal account almost instantly!

SavingStar-Logo-300dpi
How does it work? Again, prior to purchasing items, you need to activate offers you want to redeem. Only a certain number of offers are available to all SavingStar users, so activate offers you’re very likely to use. Sometimes, the offers will disappear if the limit has been reached. After you’ve made your purchase, scan the product’s barcode to ensure that it qualifies for the offer. Upload your receipt and your savings will post to your account in a few days.
When do I get paid? You can cash out after you’ve redeemed $5 worth of offers.

Tip: I’ve come to realize that a lot of the RedPlum coupons align with SavingStar offers. Technically  you can’t redeem a SavingStar offer that you’ve used a coupon on, but I have yet to encounter a problem with double dipping. Shhh!

SavingStar is so unique, because for a limited time, they offer 100% cash back on certain items! For example, York Peppermint Patties were the 100% cash back offer… meaning I scored one COMPLETELY FREE!

Ibotta_white_lg
How does it work? Much like SavingStar, you select the rebate offers you’d like to redeem prior to making purchases. You’ll also have to scan the product’s barcode and upload a photo of the receipt. You’ll get cash back almost instantly, or within 24 hours.
When do I get paid? With Ibotta, you have to wait until you’ve redeemed $20 worth of offers, before you can cash out.

What’s cool about Ibotta is that you can join teams, and earn bonuses for completing different activities. Connect your Facebook account to your Ibotta account for the teammate bonuses!

checkout51logo_colour
How does it work? This app is very similar to MobiSave, in that you don’t have to scan the product’s barcode to get credit for making a purchase. Simply star (or activate) the offers you want to redeem, and upload your receipt. New Checkout 51 offers appear every Thursday at 12:00 AM, and expire the following Wednesday at 11:59 PM.
When do I get paid? After you’ve reached $20 in redeemed offers, you can cash out.
